    Our client in Surrey are seeking a qualified Vet Surgeon to join their team as their Clinical Services Manager! Are you looking for the next step in your career?

    The role involves managing and organising the hospital, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and working in partnership with other key members of the management team to deliver a professional service to clients, patients, and referring veterinarians.

    The individual will provide leadership and support to the clinical team, promoting high standards of patient care and prioritising team wellbeing. They will be accountable for the quality of clinical operations within the hospital, including scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining efficient workflows, while adhering to budgetary guidelines and ensuring outstanding communication and service to referring veterinarians and clients.

    This position carries direct line management responsibility for the Head Nurse, Rehabilitation Team Leader, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Team Leader, and Clinical Resource Co-ordinator, along with matrix management responsibility for senior clinicians, registrars, residents, and interns.

    The successful candidate will implement and maintain quality assurance protocols, conduct regular audits of hospital processes and clinical facilities, and identify opportunities for improving standards and operational effectiveness in alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

    They will ensure compliance with the RCVS Guide to Professional Conduct and other relevant professional requirements, including maintaining registration, memberships, and reporting obligations.

    Support will be provided to the wider hospital team in meeting the ethical responsibilities associated with a veterinary referral environment, ensuring both clinical and support staff fulfil these duties.

    This role requires an exceptional individual capable of working under pressure with flexibility. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a proven track record in leading large teams, preferably within a veterinary or clinical setting.

    The role also demands a commitment to safe, efficient decision-making, expert clinical care, and compassionate communication. The successful candidate will be care-driven, highly organised, and able to support a dynamic 24/7 team environment.

    Developing People

    • Maintain up-to-date clinical rotas and staffing levels.

    • Host and facilitate external visits.
    Clinical Equipment & Services
    • Manage equipment/service contracts and records.
    • Source equipment and supplies within budget.
    • Oversee RCVS accreditation and statutory compliance.
    • Budget for future clinical needs.
    Health & Safety
    • Lead H&S policy, audits, training, and compliance.
    • Ensure incident reporting and staff safety training.
    Other
    • Deliver excellent customer service and handle complaints.
    • Support budget planning, business continuity, and marketing.
