    About This Role

    An independently owned small animal practice in Somerset is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to its friendly and dedicated team.

    • Salary up to £70,000 (commensurate with experience)
    • Full-time (preferred), flexible hours considered.
    • 20-minute consults as standard
    • Scheduled daily team catch-ups
    • Early closing at 6pm on several days
    • No out-of-hours work!
    • 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota
    • A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

    Established in 2014 and under current ownership since 2020, the practice has built a strong reputation locally for delivering outstanding client and patient care, with RCVS accreditation for ‘Outstanding’ Client Care and Inpatient Services. The practice is a modern, standalone facility situated within a busy retail area, offering convenient access and ample parking. The premises are well-equipped, providing a professional yet welcoming environment for both clients and staff.

    The successful candidate will join a stable and supportive team led by a practice owner who holds multiple certificates. The veterinary team includes a highly experienced clinician with a surgical focus, a recent graduate vet, and a skilled nursing and support team. The practice is known for its collaborative culture, open communication, and commitment to clinical excellence.

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal vet confident in all aspects of general practice. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets. An interest in mentoring is highly desirable, especially for those who wish to become a Vet GDP Advisor as the practice continues to support and develop new graduates.
